I'm having good luck creating a logo and exporting it... but I want to try creating this kind. Please go to this link and check about a third of the way down, for the photo of the two hummingbirds and blue sky background. "hummingbirds do a lot of fighting..."

See the way she has her name/logo at the bottom left? I know how to set the opacity in my video app, Final Cut Pro, but I don't know how to make the actual letters/font that way in Photoshop.

Can you give me a clue on that?

Thanks so much.

...those letters have a layer style of bevel and emboss, looks to be white type initially and then layer opacity has been reduced to show the layer beneath through the type...

apepp, that totally worked!!! I have the logo I want. Thanks so much. Okay so... my only question, is there a way to fatten the look of the beveled letters, without increasing the font size?

The one in the example I give of that lady's picture, the letters are quite a bit fatter than mine. Mine look thin by comparison.

I'm looking at Inner Bevel, but haven't found yet which parameter would fatten the letters.

Thanks again for that very helpful example.

You'd probably use a different font.

You COULD use the font as a selection, then expand the selection, the bevel that, but that would round the corners, so a heavier font would be better.

Hers looks like she's using arial black.

Thank you, Sadruddin. I found a heavier font and it made the letters fatter as you suggested... my question is... the example i gave the woman's letters are fatter but hollow. Mine seem to be filled in. Once i import to Final Cut Pro I can use opacity to fade the letters, but not make them hollow.

Is this a setting when I bevel and emboss in Photoshop?

Thanks again to all.
