Hi all

Im making docs etc. to enable others to reinstall my SQL from scratch.
There are frequent changes to the system so instead of adding e.g. 10 changes in docs, pointing to files that needs to be applied on top of eachother, i want to make new scripts after each change and then just point the doc to these. The script will then be cumulative.

If i rightclick a DB in EM, i can choose generate SQL script. Theres alot of things to include on this dialog but it remains unclear to me which i should include to make sure i have all it takes to reinstall the DB. e.g. the ones under options.

any advice ?

Please clarify "reinstall your SQL from scratch". That's pretty ambiguous.

To enable Operations department in reinstalling the SQL, i need to make and update installation guide on this particular server.

I can see that when numbers of changes acumulate, it becomes difficult to manage docs and files e.g. after a change to a table in a db, i would need to add to guide that they need to install this, and then do this change, and then do this change etc.

Instead i want to export SQL scripts after each change and save these with same name and location so the docs can just point and say: add these, and youre done.

I have a hard time understanding all 3 tabs on what to include in mentioned scripts.

brgds Nicolai
