create somesort of network

Hey, i have a question about this picture...

Can anyone tell me how they created the network sort of image that you see in the image, i mean the little white lines that go horizontal and vertical, creating small little boxes.
I dont know what tools in Photoshop i can use for this job.
Anyway i hope someone can help me out with this.

Draw a cross in 1-pixel white lines.

Select it.

Edit menu>define pattern.

Select the entire canvas.

Edit menu>fill with pattern.
