Looking for help in creating a rule to clear the "From" box as I need to make sure the replies I send are from my mailbox not the shared. Outlook 2007

Thankx

If you're still working on this, any success yet? Any ideas? Any more detail?

My initial thought would be to possibly use VBA to do this with a separate button? But I'm not sure what you are wanting to do...

I believe the rules are typically used to control email as it comes in... not in the creating of a mail message.. that might be where you've not had any replies....

AND it could just be b/c of the holidays, at least here in the U.S. I know I didn't hardly touch anything like tek-tips last week, and this is my first day back at work in a little over a week. [smile]

No luck on this yet. Think I have tried every rule possible. Goal is to have a process run as I hit send that clears the "From" field so it uses my default profile instead of the shared mailbox address.

I think - I could be wrong - that what you'll need to do is this:

1. Create a VBA macro to change the From setting.
2. Save that VBA macro as a "custom action"
3. In the Rules Wizard, when you get to the part telling Outlook what to do, tell it to "perform a custom action", which then you would point to your VBA macro.

At least that's what seems to be a solution I can see. I could be wrong, however, as I've not tried that to date.
