As w/ all Ms. Access issues, "IT DEPENDS".
The actual command is very straight forward - BUT hten doing sonething useful with your new report cna be (usually IS) quite a challenge.
The command creates a new (but blank) report. You then need to:
[tab]assign the resordsource
[tab]assign the controlsource(s) for each control
[tab]set up the ordering and grouping (incl the properties - wso you can have headers and footers)
[tab]populate it w/ controls
[tab]Layout the controls for use by people
[tab]provide the captions for all of the labels
[tab]provide any ancillary calculations for aggregate functions
[tab]...
(by the way, I never did finish the one I started. I just figured out a way to 'customize' an existing report at run-time to get what was required).
