Create Relative Hyperlinks

I have seen this question in other posts with no resolution. So I would like to try again. When creating links in Adobe 6.0, the links are created with absolute paths, starting from the drive designation and continuing through all of the folders. I need to write the link with relative paths so I can distribute them to other computers. As far as I can tell there is no way to do that, though I would be shocked if that were true. Anybody have any info on this.
