Hello,
I am trying to setup a peer to peer network for one of our external branches. The network consists of 2 Win98 pcs and 1 Win95 PC. Printer #1 is shared on Win98#1, and printer #2 is shared on the Win95PC. Both of these printers are Parallel port printers. All 3 PCs print to both printers. That is fine for Windows apps, but we have a DOS app that runs centrally on Win98PC#1, and is accessible via shortcut from the other PCs.

We want all 3 PCs to essentially have the same printer captures because if the DOS app prints to LPT2, then the printout has to be sent to the right printer no matter which PC the user is on. Since there are 2 shared LPT1s and the printer printing would not end up on the same printers, we want LPT2 to be the laser printer, and LPT3 to be the ticket printer.

I cannot seem to be able to create a capture of a local printer. Once I install a local printer, it is installed on LPT1. I then share it, and it is available to everyone else via the proper LPT ports (\\PC\printer), except on the printer it is installed on. I tried capturing (\\PC\printer) on the local printer, but it comes back with an error.

I need to find a way to capture different LPT ports for the same local printer on LPT1.

Any ideas?
