I have received an email sent to a bunch of people, including myself.

The email came externally, and some recipients are not known to me, some are in my contacts list and some are internal (ie in AD.)

Is it possible to *easily* create a distribution list from these.

Dragging them to a new dist list doesnt work as it just copies over the names... so I'd have to add each one as a contact, first.

Otherwise, I'll have to type in each of the 500 addresses!!!!

I'm using Outlook 2003 (connected to exchange)

I have found a program that might help you with this issue. Email Address Collector can filter and extract all the addresses from your received emails and convert them to Outlook contacts or whatever you want. Another reason why I like the program is that it automatically eliminates duplicates from the extracted contacts.

You can find it here:

I just stumbled upon your request as I was trying to do the same thing. Check this solution out on Microsoft office site:
Basically, just Select All/Copy all the recipients on an email and then go into the New Distribution List and Select Members and Paste into the To: field. It worked like a charm.

but that doesnt copy the email addresses - just the names. ie doesnt work for internet recips.
