Create Northern Lights

I am creating a website for a Nunavut organizations. They would like to have northern lights in the top of the banner.

I tried a tutorial to create northern light (

but I am having more than a hard time using the square tool to insure the "lights" are realistic.

Anyone has a good tutorial that could help?

I'd personally find a better tutorial or just use a real picture. That tutorial is pretty bad. For you info - "the square tool" like they put it is the Marquee tool. At first I thought they were talking about the Square shape tool.

Thanks, I looked for other tutorials, but they were pretty worst than the one I tried, or the northern light did not even look like a northern light.

I'll let know in this thread if I ever come across a good tutorial.
