Create MS Project 2002 Task with ASP?

Hello all,
I find I need to create Project 2002 Tasks (in existing projects) via ASP. I have looked at the SDK from MS, but there is something missing.
Does anyone know of an article I could look at? Or have you done this?
I have scoured the MS site without any luck. I also looked at MS's own ASP pages that do this but they are very hard to follow, being a jumble of js, DHTML, activeX controls, COM objects and include pages. I just need to create a simple task in a project without all the GUI functionality that Project Web provides.

Limit your investigation of the MS Samples to the use of the COM objects that expose the MS Project Object Model. Also you might search just that subject without the ASP side of it, that might help simplify the samples you find.
