create layer containing result from differnt page

i am looking to create a small window, whose content is derived from a different page, on mouseover.
I am not sure how to explain this more clearly but by pointing out pages at marketwatch.com. The website shows news article about shares and has Ticker symbols for companies. when the mouse is placed over the symbols a small window (kind of similar to tooltip) comes up which shows the information related to the company. I am not looking to do something at that grand scale but my first goal is to simply display a different page where the user can move around.
any ideas
