We are trying to convert our primary filesystem to large file enabled. We have make a mksysb tape after running mkszfile. Before the mksysb we edited the image.data file and changed the FS_BF= true for the particular file system. However, when we restore from the tape we cannot boot. The error states that our inittab is corrupt. Research points us to the load64bit line which is NOT on our inittab. The utility this loads is /etc/methods/cfg64 which is NOT in our methods directory nor on our entire system. It is not even available on the distribution cdrom. Has anyone successfully converted a filesystem to large file enabled? How did you accomplish this?
BTW - we are using version 4.2.1.
Thanks in advance [sig][/sig]

Why do you want your / file system large-file-enabled? May be it's not possible... IBM says specifically AIX can not boot from a compressed file system, then I could conclude that booting from a LFE filesystem is not possible too.

Can't you have your files in another filesystem? [sig][/sig]
