create DBA Role

Hi,

I found the DBA ROle is missing When i visualize by Toad.
I'm unable to grant DBA privilge to a user.

Is it possible to recreate the DBA role.

Yes -
create role DBA;

Then grant whichever privileges you want to it.

What are the standard privileges can i assign to the DBA Role.

To grant DBA role to user you should be granted DBA role with admin option, so I suppose that it exists in database but YOU has no appropriate right.

If you connect as sysdba, you can create the role. Then grant whichever roles/privileges you deem appropriate for the role. Then grant the role to whomever you deem an appropriate user.

Thank you carp and sem,
i've created the roles connecting with the MDSYS user.
I've seen all the necessary system privilges to create the DBA role via TOAD.
It works fine now.
