Create Controlfile Fails

Issuing a create controlfile command reports an error indicating that file xxx.dfb is not a datafile, when it was, at least until yesterday.

Does that mean that the dbf file is corrupted??

Is there any way around it?

use alter database rename command to rename the datafile and try
