create balance sheet using crystal reports

hello friends,
I am working on an accounting package with vb, sql and crystal reports.

I have taken summary of {@ledgercredits} and {@ledgerdebits}. I get it perfectly. Then taking a formula I take groupwise difference of the above two summaries.
{@diff}=sum({@ledgercredits}) - sum({@ledgerdebits})

What i want is the difference of any two specific groups of the {@diff} values.
Please help.
