Hello,

I have a form that is linked to a table, however when ever it starts up, it displays a record in that data (like the 3rd or 4th record, i dont know why)

I would like the form to be completely blank but still be able to link to that table. is this possible?

#2,

I'm having people put in a number into the text field that has a input mask, however I would like a leading "1" to be placed in the front automatically and saved in the table.

Please help, thanks

Sorry Remou, I dont understand the first part of your answer, but thank you for the 2nd part.

Simply, i want the form to start up with nothing in it, so the user can input data and I already have a button set up to create a record on a preexisting table.

Data entry is a search term. Look at the form in design view, you will find that Data Entry is one of the form properties. In addition, if you create a switch board, it will allow you to open a form 'for adding' or 'for editing' data. It is not necessary to create a record, Access will do that for you. If you wish to open a form to an already created record, that is a different story.

Remou,

sorry, maybe those options exist in a previous version of Access, I am currently using Access Xp. and none of the options you stated exist.

ok, i apologize, i actually have access 07.

i'm slightly tired and its late :)
