Hello All,
Here is my requirement.I have a simple Mapping & Workflow, which copies records from a flat file to Oracle table. The inputfile path & name are dynamic(they keep changing).

I want to create a parameter file which gives the inputfile path & name. When I execute pmcmd command to run my workflow,it should read this parameter file to get the path & file name.

By the way we have Power Center 8.1
Please advice me how to do this.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks,
Venkata Ramana

AFAIK you cannot use a parameter file for this purpose.
If you are going to modify a file by hand, then create a cmd file that does a copy of the everchanging file to location+name with fixed values.
Use the fixed values in the session.

Now create a workflow that start with a simple task that fires the cmd file.

I think this involves the same amount of work and I am sure it works (we have a number of jobs that work this way)
