Is it possible to create a new Access database (or to update an existing one) from an SQL Server table using stored procedures ?
In other words, I want to automatically ceate a copy of the SQL table into an access database.
Why make a copy in Access when you can just link to the table in Access? If you really need to copy the table to Access you can use DTS and select the Access database as the destination.
However, the advantages of linking to the table rather than copying it are that you can enter and update data in Access and it will be in the SQL server table or you can make the table read only but you will still see the data as it is updated in real time rather than having to wait until someone runs the DTS package again to update the data.
Just make sure the table is shared with the proper permissions. Whoever links to the table must have select, insert, update, etc. rights in order to write back to the SQL table.
