If you, like me, work in a Helpdesk environment where you would like more than one phone to ring to signify an important number is being contacted (Eg, Helpdesk) try this little tip.
Designate an old telephone (Does not matter how old, as long as it can receive) and either hide it somewhere place it in a central area. (This phone be plugged in for the trick to work). (We use a BT Cordless phone), meaning someone does have access.
Next, set up a monitor the MD110 phones you wish to use. User MDN and set the dir number to the central number you have designated. And the Call Alternative to 0 (Flashing Light, No Ring) or 1 (Flashing Light, Ring).
Hey Presto. Now telephone in both IT rooms of our two different offices will ring. Now its just a rush to get the phone before the person in the other office does.
Have Fun.
This is probably really obvious stuff, but I thought I would kick off with something for the novices.
