Hello,
As with many businesses we have many people joining and leaving, unfortunately we don’t have an automated way to remove extensions when their HR flag is set to ‘left’. This leaves us with a messy situation as we have many extensions that are not in use as the person left. I’m not looking to automat that but what I would really like to be able to run a report to find extensions that have not been used in the last number of days or weeks or months. Can I do this from the PBX? Can you help?

I’m sure this is not a new wish but I have searched and can’t find the answer.

An example would be find all DNs not used for 4 weeks.

If you have access to the PBX command line you can print out
a list of unused DN's (LUDN)

LD 20
REQ PRT
TYPE LUDN
CUST X (Usually '0')
DN (Range or Hit Return)

For unused digital sets, go into LD 117 and key in "INV GEN SETS" wait a while until it finishes, then use "INV PRT SETS".

Any sets that are unavailable will probably be spare.

There is not a report system within the PBX that allows you to see phones/DN's on the system that are active but not used for any period of time. The only way to accomplish this is to use after market billing software, where you can run reports and eliminate all those numbers that do not appear over the specified time frame. Even that will be somewhat labor intensive as you will have to compare all the numbers on your PBX with those generated by the report.
Probably the best method is for you to go to the HR group and ask them to provide lists of everyone who has left over the last year and manually go through the system, then ask them to include you in on any distribution they may have that would give you this information in a timely manner in the future.
 
Sorry I guess one mis-understood your post but to my knowledge the PBX doesn't have the facility to indicate this
but I guess there will be others that could suggest

Herewith My $ worth - suggestion would be any of those phones you believe are not being used
select a reasonable daily number of them and 'Disable'
TN ports. I guess they will shout, if so just re-enable again or alternatively wind down their levels of access on profiles best way via NCOS relating to FCR Tables and again they'll shout

If you have access to the PABX:-

LD 32
.DISU TN DISable
.ENLU TN ENable

LD 49 - FCR tables to NCOS

wow, thanks everyone for the feedback and suggestions. I should have made my post more clear but thankfully trvlr1 worked out what I was after. At least I know that I need to explore other avenues :) I am currently running reports from our AD box to work out who has left but I was looking for another way as this only gives me so much information. Better than none though :)
I do have access to the box (as dangerous as that is) so the disable method is better than just OUTing them as I had done before, SL1M1 thanks for that.

now that I am working through disabling some of the extensions (TNs), is there a quick way to show all TNs that are disabled. For instance I have issued

how can I then find this and the other TNs I disabled?

In LD 32, key in e.g. "STAT 8" for all Option 11 TN's that start with a TN of "8". Otherwise, you will need to enter in the superloop shelf and slot for the bigger systems.

In your example, just key in "STAT 96 0 2" to print off the Phantom DN's.

You can't stat any Phantom loops as they are virtual ones, but the virtual card slot can still be looked at.

Don't know what type of vmail you have, but you might be able to run a report there that tells you when the last time someone logged in was. This is usually a good indicator of when the phone was last used.

Depending on the type of business:
Careful you don't have folks out of the office on travel (on one job, I was out of the office for several weeks at a time)
It wouldn't be nice to come back from the road and find your extension dead.
