I am having trouble creating a phantom DN is the system. I keep recieving a message stating the DN must be defined or unique. I know it is unique but what can I do to define this dn as a phantom. I have been using LD 10 and a Phantom TN, but I am still having no luck.

I have done a prt in LD 20 searching for the new DN I was planing to use. It is not defined in the system. Do I have to define phantom DNs in an alternate LD xx ?

maybe the DN conficts with something else in your dialing plan. what is the code you're getting? does the first digit conflict with your SPRE code or do you have a shorter DN already programmed?

I have done this in ld 11
new
type 500
tn 156 0 0 0
dn 4500 -and your dn maybe be already used somewhere not as a dn but maybe a mailbox or something.

any way to print the DN defined in the system.
I have been using the following:
LD 20
prt
dnb
0
xxxx - DN

I recieve the following:
DN xxxx
type CDP
stcd DSC

You identified your own problem. The number is not unique. It is used in LD 87 as a Coordinated Dial Plan (CDP) under Distant Steering Code (DSC). Probably used as a 4 digit number going to another switch tied to your switch.

Go to LD 20 and prt. Under type use LUDN and enter through the rest. It will print all the numbers that are available for you to use.

Good luck

That was it. This number was listed as a Distant Steering Code. I removed it from load 87 and added it on a phantom DN in LD 10. Thanks you everyones input.

why was it in the dail plan?

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.
