hi,
but then the form won't be blank when they go to open it again
This is what a TEMPLATE is for.

Create your workbook and SaveAs a TEMPLATE.

When File > New you can choose the TEMPLATE to start, with your initialized form, ready to enter data.

That's something I've never seen before! Thanks! So how about marking the damage on a diagram? How would you suggest handling that? It's a diagram of the barge and they currently are writing in a number for each area with damage and then explaining it below the diagram. How can I have them able to number these different areas? There's really no way for me to know what spot on the diagram the damage will be located. Any suggestions?

vlbridge,

It is rudimentary... but what about placing text boxes in a set number of areas, and then the text keys will identify the specific location?

For example, if the Tug was facing North/12 o'clock on the diagram... text-boxes "in front of" the diagram at 12, 2, 5, 7, and 10.

Cheers!

Mike

"To be alive is to revel in the moments, in the sunrise and the sunset, in the sudden and brief episodes of love and adventure,
in the hours of companionship. It is, most of all, to never be paralyzed by your fears of a future that no one can foretell."

I thought about that. I will play around with the idea and see how the bosses feel about it. Thanks for the suggestions!
