Hi everyone, I looking to upgrade to 4.0 and I would like to image my current 3.7 drive so incase something goes wrong, I can load it with out having to reprogram again. I have Nortel's imaging tool but for what I understand it is used to load an image not to create one.

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

You potentially could use ghost or some other drive imaging utility to make an image of your drive. However, if the partition sizes don't line up exactly the 4.0 upgrade could fail. The 'supported' method in Nortel's eyes would be to reimage the drive with the BIT tool then restore data from a backup.

I have Nortel's imaging tool"

Are you talking about the CD's that come with the BCM with the Image's on them? thats not the tool it's just the Image, you need the BIT tool.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Thanks Biv. Ace I was reffering to the imagetool it self, I have downloaded the image (all three parts) from Nortel's site. I just wanted to use the tool to create an image rather than just apply one. Thanks
