any tools out there to easily allow you to create a 3D rotating graphic from a 2D gif ?

I've got a log that I want to having rotate in a cirlce "into" the page.

nope, you can use ulead3d to make simple 3d gifs but you cant really make 2d to 3d easy

If the basic shape is simple enough (say, a cylinder), then most 3d packages will allow you to texture map your 2d image onto a 3d shape. Once you get that far, it should be easy enough to rotate.

If you mean that you have a logo, and you want to make it look like it's drawn on a flat board and the board is being spun around, that's pretty easy - any animated graphics package should let you do that, I use the one that comes with Paint Shop Pro. You might even find an online service to do it for you - try Googling for "animated gif generator".

If you want your logo rendered as a true 3D object and rotated, that's a bit more complicated. I guess you'd have to start from scratch with some kind of 3d modelling tool.

Whatever you do, note that nothing shouts "newbie!" as loud as an animated gif, especially a spinning logo!
