I am using CR 10. I posted this a while ago and nobody answered

I have data which is grouped (the detail is supressed, but used as a flag to do a count in the group1) Its is sorted by groupname order

So I have groupname count
1234 3
1235 8
1236 9
1237 11
etc

but its a long list and for nice letter presenetation I want to see in 2 lists eg

1234 3 1236 9
1235 8 1237 11

ie show still in sort order but then at a certain point ie half the list start again in a different column

Can anyone answer

thanks

Don't think you can do this.

YOu could use a subreport and split data into two and then use record count to suppress top half in main report and second half in subreport.

To be safe you will need to use a Shared variable to suppress from count count point in SR.

Not very efficient as you will need to run though entire date twice.

Mmmmm yes i did think about some sort of record count and just show every other row in each column. OK it wouldnt be strictly the correct order it would go:

1 2
3 4

instead of

1 3
2 4

Any ideas if this would be easier. I realise the reporting tool isnt built to do this realy but you think it would be a common question.

Also maybe some sort of cross tab report where data restricts to 2 columns but I dont see how this could work really.
