CRCP Vs. ACE

I received my ACE (Authorized Crystal Engineer) certificaton in version 9. Besides having another certification is there any real benefit to getting my CRCP certification? In order to get the ACE cert. I had to take Crystal designer 1, 2 and 3 then take the ACE course. Does anyone know if I would have to retake all of the these courses or would some or all of them apply towards the CRCP cert.? (I think I already know the answer to that one)

I never took the ACE myself, but I understood it to be more of an accredidation than a certification since there was an independt thrid party giving the tests.

As far as the courses go, if you know the material in the 3 manuals and if you just study up on the differences between 9 and 10, and then 10 to XI, you should be able to pass the 2 tests. Anyone can go take the tests without taking and classes. They will gladly accept your $150 USD for each exam.

Thanks fo the information Brian, I'll put that in the budget for next year. Where did you hear that ACE was through a third party? I dealt directly with Crystal for the training and exam and my certificate is stored as part of my profile with Crystal (now BO).

Sorry, I should have reread what I wrote. I meant to say that the ACE was more of an accredidation than a certification since the test was NOT given through a third party. The CRCP, which is actually called the BOCP (Business Objects Certified Professional) Crystal Reports, has exams that are administered through Pearson Vue.
