I have this slight problem getting all my folder view settings the same on my Win98 se computer. When I view the contents of the C: through either My Computer or Explorer all the contents are set in alphabetical order, but when I view the contents through a program such as Internet Explorer or DreamWeaver there are all in date order. I used the Arrange Icons to Name order but this only works that time and as soon as I try to view the C: from another program or the same one again all Folders are set back to date order? Has anyone know anything I can change? I have tried everything I know through the Explorer - View - Folder Options. I guess it might be a registry setting, but I have no idea which one it would be? Any help welcome :) [sig][/sig]

Try clicking on the Name bar directly above the folder and file column. See if that works. [sig][/sig]

Nice one ackka, I went and had a look through all the keys under that branch but couldn't find the one to make the changes? Most of the keys were binary values and to be honest I wouldn't know where to start with those. I search for any instances of arrange and icons and although there was a lot of settings for icons, I couldn't see one that I could associate with my problem. There was next to nothing for arrange. If you figure it out, sure do let me know yeah! :)

Ok I have got it at last :) After opening explorer and selecting C: in the right window click Name (to put the in decending alphabetical order) then hold down ctrl and close explorer by clicking the x at the yop right of the window. Now reboot to set changes. If it hasn't set the folders/files back to alphabetical order, then go into My Computer and set the View to Details and click Name (again to put the in decending alphabetical order) hold down ctrl and close the window in the same way, and restart your computer!! This should do it, it worked for me :):D
