Crashing when saving a .jpg?

Hey folks:

Just wondering if any of you have ever had this problem. When I go to "Save as Web" in Photoshop 7 if I choose .gif then it will save the file, however, when I go to save the image as a .jpg the program shuts down?? I've re-installed, I've run scan disc, defrag, virus scan. No luck. It's occured in the past...but then it stops doing it.

Just wondering?
