Greetings all,
All started after reinstalling illustrator cs version 11
on a new harddrive. All other CS programs running fine, except illustrator. I'm all up to date on XP pro, but program starts ghosting images that i'm working on, video goes crazy etc, then shuts down. Doesn't crash system, but have to restart illustrator. My sys. P4 2.5/100mgs ram/ATI radeon 9700pro 128mg card with latest driver suite, (i've tried running vid card in lowest mode, but no luck)
All this aside, does anyone have any thoughts on what to try?
Worked fine on my last drive, only difference is that i've got the latest ATI driver suite..
many thanks,

You might have just gotten a bad write. Did you try uninstalling ILL and reinstalling (with antivirus software off)?

thanks JMGalvin, i tried the reinstall, but still no luck. also tried rolling back vid driver, nope. Running in compat. mode for 2000, nope. I crashed it today and wrote down the error "code:" 0xc0000005. I have only 1 device driver issue on the sys.(popped up on the reinstall of winxppro on the new drive)it's for the network controller, that i've disabled, but perhaps i need to resolve it?
Next thought?
Thx!!!!!

Sorry, can't help you much. I'm on OSX. The only thing I've read is that ILL can have some bad consequences when running some antivirus software (seems I heard Norton, on Mac too). so you might try disabling any antivirus/privacy sw and see what happens. I don't have any antivirus sw installed.

You might see if Adobe has any updates. There could possibly be some conflict with some Windows updates.

If you look down the posts, you'll see another guy had a lot of problems after inttalling ILL on windows. I suggested disabling antivirus and doing a reinstall. He says that did the trick.
