Looking for some methods to rebuild a crashing server? It is running NW 5.0 and has a corrupted RAID configuration. It does not hold the master replica either. We've tried Power Quest's "Server Image" TM. ver. 1.1, When booting box to DOS can't get past the drive limitation to store the image on another server(reports insufficient free space for image), Server Magic 4.0 to perform a volume copy to remote drive (both failed). Can't run VREPAIR. NOS reports incorrect free space. Looking for alternatives to wiping and restoring.

Is there a tape backup of the data? If the amount of actual space being used is less than the "free" space on the volume you should be able to do a restore. This presumes thatthe tape software you are using did not do an image copy but file by file and is NDS aware.
Server MAgic should allow you to install a disk and copy the image onto the new disk (doesn't have to be a raid just large enough).
