Crap Preformance over a NetWork ???

I want to put an Access 2000 file on the file server and have a VB application on peoples machines that connect to the Access 2000 file.

- Problem is - the Performance is Crap !!
- The network seems to work fine.
- About max. 3 people want to hit the file at the same time.


What can I do to speed up the performance of the app?
- Methods to cache the information stored in the form Combo boxes ?
- Different connection types that work faster ?
- Anything else that would help !!!! I've only got a few days left !!
