Hi there!

i joined a dc to the domain and got some crap objects. So after a while i removed the AD drom this dc, but still some objects are there which i cant delete

in replmon i see 3 partitions containing the sites. Its showing one site with the name "on" on server "LostAndFoundConfig" which should be referenced to the old server. But i deleted already everything related to this.

in dcdiag i get an error on systemlog that it cannot connect to the old server.

how can i delete those objects?

and on site links, i also still see a site which was deleted

note: the ntds settings in dcdiag (see picture) is fixed

items in dcdiag systemlog can be ignored, its just red things from the eventlog. If you cleared the system eventlog before running dcdiag it will report all ok.

I think you need to use the ntdsutil commandline tool.

heres a good guide on ntdsutil
On a large AD on my work, i have cleaned out 2 domains but still find garbage objects, and im told that SP1 for win2k3 server will enable the removal of these. Dunno much about this yet though.

brgds Nicolai
