Hello
Customer has a Norstar w/7.0 software with PRI using combo card and T1 card...for the last two days there has been heavy static on inbound and outbound calls along with dropped calls. Rebooting the system "clears" the problem temporarily but comes back in 30 minutes or less. Carrier says the circuit is testing clean but have had issues with their credibility in the past. Any direction on where to look greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Tom

going on site in the morning...what codes should we be looking for?
Thanks Again
Tom

You will get those exact symptoms when your clock goes into free run. Your carrier is lying to you!

The system will continue to process calls until the clock signal has drifted so far that it drops the calls. Rebooting the system will reset everything and it will work until the clock drifts again......and the cycle repeats.

thank you! How do we prove it to them?

alarm code like 40 ,42,44,75 on the alarm set phone . If you had a t bird you could check the circuit your self and could tell if it was the network or your equipment or you could have the telcom provider come to site and test the circuit

You also want to check the cable and connections from the Telco NIU to the Norstar. A faulty cable, bad plug or jack can cause similar symptoms on DS1/PRI circuits... Telco only tests to the NIU.
