CR9 Standard ?

I am currently using CR9 Developer/Full to create reports that are accessed via a system written in VB6 that accesses SQLserver7 via stored reports. I'm using developer to allow the passing of recordsets to the report.

However, I now need to purchase a copy of CR to train my company's controller in building adhoc reports directly off the SQLserver database (tables or views).

What version of CR do I need to get for him to hit the SQLserver's tables and/or views and build reports?

You will need CR9 Professional edition. That supports client server DB's while the STd edition does not.
