In CR8.5 through VB6, we had no trouble setting the location of our main reports as well as any subreports to any one of three servers in one smooth procedure.

In CR9, we can set the location of the main report, but the subreport does not change servers.

Does anyone know where we might find information on how to do this? We have been searching for the answer without success. We are facing production issues, so don't have a lot of time.

Thanks.

I've got a faq that might help you: faq768-5374

Dave,

Thank you very much for the FAQ. We're going to try it, and I'll let you know how it works out. Have a nice weekend.

We are trying the code from the FAQ, and I think this may work for us. One thing we are still having a problem with is getting the database name. Before in the CR8.5 code the .Location property returned the name of the database. Now it returns the table name. Do you know how we might get the database name?

Thanks,

Tracey

Do you want to read the database name from the subreport, in order to find out what database it was using at design time?

We want to read the database name used by the subreport through VB at runtime.

I don't have CR9 available right now, but I believe you can use the LogOnDatabaseName property of the DatabaseTable object.
