CR9 on CE8 does it work?

I have done a search but can't seem to find any threads on this. We are currently using the full version of CE8 which we plan to upgrade to CE9 later this year when we have a new server available. Updating before then is problematic.

I also was going to uprgrade to CR9 at that time as well.. however, there are new features in CR9 that I would really like to take advantage of right now. Does anyone have an instance of using CR9 reports on CE8? Any known problems? I am sure I will need to test some anyway but if someone already has it working.. or tried and couldn't get it to .. I will have a better time estimate.

From my understanding, because CD changed the CR engine in version 9, only CE 9 is able to run CR 9 reports. I have been waiting for CE 9 (I just got the maintenance upgrade today) so that I can upgrade to CR 9.

I hope this helps. I will try and locate the documentation that I read that stated the above.
