CR8 Label report problem

I'm using CR8 with VB6, but I think my problem is a CR8 one. The first problem is to print one dataset X-times on a labelsheet with 2x6 labels.
Neither I like to do a database workaround with joined datasets like 1,2,2,3,3,3... like mentioned on the seagate websites nor working with temporary generated datasets in 'output tables'. The second problem is to set the starting-label position if the labelsheet has been in use before.

For both problems I found nearly no infos - the best thing I found was this newgroup :)

The easiest way to solve both of your problems is to create a table with one column, with the integers from 0 to 99 as the 100 rows.
You can do a cartesian join to this table to get multiple label copies, and you use it to skip n labels with another parameter.
If you are working with reports, a table like this can be quite useful in your database, yet is extremely compact, and easy to create. Malcolm

Thanks for your reply Malcom, but this things I don't want to do, because, as Seagate told me, CR8 should support these features: Set the number of times a dataset has to be printed and set the startingposition of labelreports. After all my problem seems to be that I don't know how to do it THIS way.

Frank,

Crystal has a setting for number of Copies, but not number of record repeats. The CR setting will only repeat the entire report.

I know of no setting for starting position of labels. I think you were mis-informed.

I'm using SCR 8 and using Visual FoxPro 3.0 tables through an ODBC Connection. I set up the table fine, but the Cartesian Product feature in the report options is greyed out. How should I join my current table with the number table?

You should post this as a new question, not a follow-up to an existing question. Ken Hamady
