cr32w.exe runtime error

I have started getting runtime errors with both Crystal 8.5 and 10.0. The only thing that has changed (significantly) is the Windows XP service pack 2 install. I've uninstalled and reinstalled both programs and still get the problem.

Any suggestions? The error is


Runtime Error!

Program: c:\program files ...

This application has requestd the runtime to terminate in an unusual way.

Try to set the File>Properties for "crw32.exe" to "Win2000 compatible Setting".

I do not find that option Win2000 compatible string

I've already tried that and it didn't resolve the problem. I've left it set at 2000 compatible just in case.
