In CR8.5 you could slighty amend, or reset the SQL query for a report, has this been taken off for CR10, when I select Show SQL Query all I can do is view it and not amend it.

This functionality was changed in version 9. If you want to chang the SQL you need to create the report using the ADD Command option in the database expert.

Hi,
There is a workaround ( not very elegant but it will work):

When viewing the Sql, highlight it and copy it..

Open notepad ( or your favorite Text editor)
and paste the code..

In CR create a command object using the code from your text ( copy) ..add this to the report and remove any other datasource..
You may ( probably will) have to replace the fields, etc. but from then on, you can edit the Command Object to modify things on the fly..

Since at least version 8 you could use a ADO connection and paste in SQL as a datasource as well.

A big plus to CR 9 is that you can use real SQL as an Add Command, eliminating the need to use the Crystal means for developing the SQL.
