Hey I haven't run into this in years, but CR XI is not showing the tables I have access to in the database expert. I know I have access because I can write a SQL Command and get the data back for the report. But I need to see the tables.

Anyone run into this?

Thanks so much!

How is the report connecting to the data? I had a similar issue once, that I resolved by creating a new ODBC connection but it was a long time ago with an ancient vesion of CR (7).

Are you able to see the tables if you try to link with another application, like Access?

Have you checked to make sure that "Tables" is checked in: file->options->database->data explorer?

Yes. I do see the tables. No I can't see the tables if I open another report and add in another data connection, I still do not see the tables, but can write an sql command and get my data back.

Thanks so much!

Yes LBass Thanks I did check that. I just went and unchecked, checked and refreshed the odbc connection again and I don't see the tables still.

I know I have seen this, but its been over 3 years ago. I just don't remember how it was solved.

Thanks so much!

Have you verified the database? Also, check "set location" and make sure the report is accessing the database you expect.

Yes database is verified. I cannot set location because I do not see the tables or the tables database in expert or list for set location.

Thanks so much!

Tried to look up this issue for you, best I could find was :

"When Crystal populates this list it is dependant on the amount of resources your PC has. It fills the list until no more can be added.
Close all other programs and try again. Try adding filtering for just your user or using wild card names etc.

No other way around this, it's a limitation of your system resources."

Seems to be a very generic "I have no idea answer", but have you tried to run the report from another PC?
