Hello,

One of our clients with a new CR XI installation (with CR 8.5 sp3 on the same machine) produces reports (in either version) and on trying to email them, receives a MS Outlook error: "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the message request. Please run MS Outlook and set it as the default mail client."

She was able to email reports from 8.5 prior to the CR XI install.

We’ve ensured MS Outlook the default mail client in the IE Properties’ setting, and that MS Outlook is open when she attempts to export.

What should we be looking at?

She’s currently employing both versions on the same PC during a test phase, ensuring 100+ 8.5 reports’ data is the same when pulled in version XI.

Thanks.

Does it work in XI?

Sounds like the install buggared something, of course, and I'm unfamiliar with this error, however if it works with XI, then at least we can rule out remote email itself being the problem.

She might also try reinstalling the email portion of CR 8.5.

It stopped working in both XI and 8.5. We'll try reinstalling one version at a time, beginning with 8.5.

Thanks.

Update: It appears her profile is "pooched"!
I logged on to her machine which added my profile to the PC. Both versions' email function worked correctly for me. No errors.

We'll rebuild her profile and update this thread with the results.

Your assistance is always appreciated. Many thanks!

Sounds like you're on to it, could even be something wrong with her email account, have her log on to another box to test.
