CR XI Date Formula help please

How can I take the CURRENTDATE and extract ONLY the month and day in the following format?

11-18


I want to test an idea I have for this formula, but I first of all need to be able to extract and place the MONTH and DAY into text as above. Please advise

If you need to have in that format as text, then use the totext function in a formula:

totext(currentdate,"MM-dd")
