CR versions? 1

Hi,

I just need some clarification about CR versions and releases.

At present, I'm running CR XI. There are also CR XI Release 1 and patches available for this version and CR XI Release 2 and patches available for this version.

My questions are as follows:
is CR XI and CR XI R1 and CR XI R2 all the same version?
are the patches of CR XI R1 and CR XI R2 compatible with CR XI?
how do you get from CR XI to CR XI R1 and CR XI R2?
can you upgrade from CR XI to CR 2008 immediately without upgrading first to CR XI R1 then CR XI R2 then CR 2008?

There is no difference between CR-XI and CR-XI (R1) - they are the same.

CR-XI (R1) and CR-XI (R2) are different versions, and the patches are specific to each version.

Launch the CR-XI application, and go to the Menu

HELP - > ABOUT CRYSTAL REPORTS

Look at the PRODCUT VERSION number - if the first three digits are 11.0 then you are on CR-XI (R1), if the first three digits are 11.5 then you are on CR-XI (R2).

To move to a future release (eg. CR-XI (R2) or CR-2008), you need to find-out if you have a current support agreeemet with BOBJ.

If you do you will be able to download the UPGRADE packages that need to be installed.

If not, you will need to BUY the new version and install it as a stand-alone.
