Hi, I would like to have some ideas as to what type of templetes which you use so that all reports for the company you work look alike?

What do you put in these templetes?

Usually companies do not build templates as templates were known in CR previous life. Today companies make use of the Repository to store logos and text objects for RH/RF and PH/PF 's. Then they build a portrait and landscape blank report. Store it out on the Enterprise server in a protected folder. People can then download the report skin, save it and make their report in the companies report standard. Using the Repository to store the aforementioned logos and text objects ensures that thousands of reports can be modified in one location if rebranding or something new has to change in the disclaimers, etc. by going to the Repository to change the one object. That then updates the thousands of reports.

Thanks so much!

Hi Sreeram.

As a form of templates, I generally build out 3 generic reports:

Portrait
Landscape
Extended Landscape (based on the standard Windows printer driver HP Designjet 3500 CPS, primarily used for exporting to Excel)

All 3 have a connection to a single table in the most commonly used database, the art, standard header and footer info, and any other common elements.

The most important aspect is that it assures that the layout is consistent.
