CR prompting for parameter value when it shouldn't

I have a report that prints from a VB app through the CR8.5 Report Viewer. There are several subreports that are linked to the main report by parameter values. In all there are 36 parameters (4[ParamsPerSubreport] * 8[Subreports]). For some reason one of these parameters is always prompted for when viewing the report. Someone in this forum suggested setting EnableParameterPrompting = False, which did stop it from asking for the parameter when previewing. It still asks for it when printing. If i look at the parameter fields in the field explorer it is the only parameter in any of the subreports that has a check on it, indicating it is used in the report. I can't find it anywhere and it is not a large report with a lot of places to for it to hide. Does anyone know of a way to find out where it is being used in the report?

I am borrowing this from my newsletter this month:

1) Export the report to a 'Report Definition' file. This will be a text file that shows 'most' of the settings in the report. Then do a word search for the name of the field. Not all expressions are included.

2) Change the data type of the parameter field, and run the report (giving it a value). If it is used in any expression, it will cause an error to pop up, showing the expression where it is used.

3) If neither of these show the problem, the field is likely sitting on the canvas but out of view. This happens when the orientation or page size is changed. Make the page wider or switch to landscape to see if the object is hidden out of view. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting
