I have several reports that were created in 8.5 using the CR Oracle ODBC. When I try to run this report in 11 or create a new report, if I use the CR Oracle ODBC connection it comes back with an error message that we are not licensed for the Merant Oracle 8 driver.
I would call the number listed, but I still create new 8.5 reports using the CROR8V36.
Have any of you that have coverted to 11 had this problem?

Hi,
Try creating a new system DSN using the XI version of the ODBC driver and, when working with the 8.5 reports, use the set location function to use the new driver..( try it on a copy first, to see if that new DSN works with new CR8.5 reports).

Personally, I would use the Oracle ODBC driver ( or, better yet, a Native Connection).

Sounds like your 8.5 crystal was on oem version provided by your erp or other systems. They generally licens 3rd party drivers for their built in reporting capabilities.

Turkbear's last line is the best answer. Use the Oracle provided drivers installed by an oracle client install.
