CR/LF data source formatting

I have an issue trying to set up a proof of concept.

I want to load letter text into an SQL Server DB with CR/LF formatting. I want this formatting to be preserved in the DB. Can Crystal Reports Recognise this formatting when the field is placed on the Crystal Report (ie the paragraph formatting and line spaces etc?) Also, anyone know how can I create this type of data file and load it to the SQL 2000 DB?

Any help most appreciated?
