CR/CE 10, Data Access and Many Databases

We are going to install CR10 and CE 10. I am hoping that with the 9 databases we have, that CR/CE 10 will give us better data access across 9 databases that we run daily reports on.
Ideally we would like to see a single report for maintenance reasons.
Today, we have a small unsupported scheduling system that has a single report, we run CR 8.5 for each DB.
We also run a combination of Windows workgroup and Novel 6 software, SQL 7 and SQL 2000. No Active Directory, but let me know if this is important.

A little clarification, please.

Are you running a report against 9 databases ( the same report, different data) or using data from 9 databases in 1 report ( I hope not)..
