CR 8.5 Pro : Empty Login Error Appears When Logging Onto Oracle 8i

One of our regional offices is installing CR 8.5 Pro on about 20 Windows-XP Pro PCs.

It's working fine on most of them, but on 2 of the PCs the Oracle Native connection doesn't work. It gives a "Login Error" message - with no other detail.

It appears to be the exact problem that is described in this support article -


....BUT, the article describes the problem as only relating to CR 8, not CR 8.5 - does anyone have any experience with this issue?

We've applied the current 8.5 hot fix and that hasn't helped.
 
Perhaps those boxes have a different Oracle client or OS?

A little research should ferret out the difference, from that point it should be fairly simple to fix.

We applied the Database and Export Drivers Monthly Hot Fix (English) - (dbexdrvrwin_en.zip)

It fixed the problem.
