I am trying to write some reports off from an Access 2000 database with Crystal 8.5. One of the fields is a text with 250 character max limit. However, it seems like Crystal is viewing this field as a memo and not allowing me to do anything with it. It is not available using the formula editor. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know of a way around it?

Thanks

Crystal is viewing this field as a memo because it thinks it is greater than 255 chars, can you reduce the field size definition? as long as it is viewed as a memo field, you won't be able to run formulas on it Seagate Certified RCAD Specialist.

Do you know why it would be viewed as over 255 characters when I can see that is clearly as a text field with 250 characters? There is no way for me to reduce the size of the field in the database. Do you know what is causing this discrepancy?

Sorry.. don't know what it causing this, the only time i remember something similar to this happening was with the older v7 reports and the P2SODBC.dll, and that is certainly not the case here. it is a longshot, but you might want to try using native drivers/ or odbc.. whichever is the opposite of what you are currently using. and see if it is still being viewed as a memo field Seagate Certified RCAD Specialist.
